Allentown apartment building fire displaces 3 residents - lehighvalleylive.com

Three people are displaced following a blaze Monday at an Allentown apartment building, a fire official said.

Allentown Fire Department Capt. John Christopher said flames broke out around noon at the three-story building in the 600 block Front Street. The fire began in the kitchen area of a second-floor apartment, he said.

The apartment building has a total of three apartments, but only two were occupied at the time, Christopher said. All residents were able to evacuate safely and there were no reported injuries, he said.

It took crews about 10 to 15 minutes to extinguish the flames, which caused water damage to the main level and smoke damage to the second level.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
