Former In-N-Out executive will open Kenwood’s Kitchen and Tap in Costa Mesa - OCRegister

Former In-N-Out executive Ken Kenwood will take his 33 years experience with the company and start his own restaurant, Kenwood’s Kitchen and Tap in Costa Mesa.

The family owned and operated restaurant will serve “American comfort food” in a “casual upscale” environment. Le Cordon Bleu trained Johnny Martinez will lead the culinary team as executive chef and Dan Kenwood, Ken’s brother and a 25-year veteran of In-N-Out, will serve as director of operations.

During Ken Kenwood’s tenure at In-N-Out he grew the company from 34 stores in one state to 300 stores in six states.

Co-founders Ken and Maria Kenwood expect to open in summer in a 4,000-square-foot space in The Shops at Mesa Verde, at 1555 Adams Ave., real estate and investment management firm JLL represented Kenwood in the acquisition of the property. The new restaurant will be in the same center as Broken Yolk Cafe, next to Mexican restaurant Descanso.
